Koru Drop 1 - This design features a deep blue Howlite (dyed) drop suspended from the timeless Koru symbol characteristic of New Zealand and Polynesian culture.

Howlite is a silicate discovered in California in 1868. It is white with grey veining and has a porous texture that takes dye well. For this reason it is usually dyed, and may be treated to simulate other stones, especially Turquoise. The color in these earrings is slightly darker than this photo.

The Howlite stone is 0.75" x 0.25" or 7mm x 15mm.
